Man Made Global Warming - Come On, Seriously?

So, we have been hearing ALOT about Global Warming in the press the last few years. Especially from political pundits such as Al Gore, Barack Obama, and many others. But let's be honest with ourselves and look at all the facts.

Global warming is a fact. It has happened in the past and it will happen in the future. There has also been global cooling - remember the Ice Age? Remember the winter in the 1800s that never seemed to end? Climate change happens on a global scale many times through the millenia. However, now we are being told by people with their own political agendas that it is our fault even though this happens naturally with out man made interference.

We can't deny this fact: in the last 30 years, the carbon dioxide in the environment has risen by about 200 %. HOWEVER, the earth goes through cooling and warming stages every 1,500 years. This cycle has been happening for just about 1 million years now, way before man kind started burning fossil fuels and driving those pesky planes, trains, and automobiles.

Yes, Carbon Dioxide levels are rising. Yes, temperations are rising. However, CORRELATION DOES NOT EQUAL CAUSATION. I can say that snow is falling in Canada and now I have a cold. I live in Virginia, does that mean that the snow falling in Canada is the reason that I have a cold?

But Carol, what about the scientific consensus that was reached by the panel that consisted of approximately 2,500 scientists that sit on the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change? I have an easy argument against that - even the AP admitted an uncovered fact that was found - only 52 of those so called scientists contributed to the summary report. The rest were unqualified. So, that number that was given was exactly what it was meant to be - an illusion.

As a matter of fact, if anything, this research determined what was really going on in the atmosphere now and how to determine if man kind was the chief cause of the present climate change:

"What about the fact, as cited by, among others, those who produced the IPCC report, that every major greenhouse computer model (there are two dozen or so) shows a large temperature increase due to human burning of fossil fuels? Fortunately there is a scientific method of testing these models to see whether current global warming is due to a man - made greenhouse effect. It involves comparing the actual or observed pattern of warming with the warming pattern predicted by or calculated from the models. Essentially, we try to see if the fingerprints match fingerprints meaning the rates of warming at different latittudes and longitudes.

For instance, theoretically, greenhouse warming in the tropics should register at increasingly high rates as one moves from the surface of the earth up into the atmosphere, peaking at about six miles above the Earth's surface. At that point the level should be greater than at the surface by about a factor of three and quite pronounced according to all the computer models. In reality, however, there is no increase at all. In fact the data from the balloon-borne radiosondes show the very opposite: a slight decrease in warming over the equator.

The fact that the observed and the predicted patterns of warming don't match indicates that the man - made greenhouse contribution to current temperature change is insignificant. The fact emerges from data and graphs collected in the Climate Change Science Program Report 1.1 published by the federal government in April 2006. It is remarkable and puzzling that few have noticed the disparity between observed and predicted patterns of warming and drawn the obvious scientific conclusion.

What explains why greenhouse computer models predict temperature trends that are so much larger than those actually observed? The answer lies in the proper evaluation of feedback within the models. Remember that in addition to carbon dioxide, the real atmosphere contains water vapor, the most powerful greenhouse gas. Everyone of the climate models calculates a significant positive feedback from water vapor - i.e., a feedback that amplifies the warming effect of the CO2 increase by an average factor of two or three. But it is quite possible that the water vapor feedback is negative rather than positive and thereby reduces the effect of increasing CO2."

So what are we saying here? I am trying to tell you that the politicians out there are pulling a trick on us and using hysteria to control us. We need to look at the actual science of the situation and realize that taxing us to death to solve a problem that doesn't actually exist IS the problem. Be realistic: these people want our money. Creating new taxes to make new projects to pay their buddies off keeps these guys and gals in power meanwhile, we are breaking the bank and our economy is suffering for it. Not only ours, but others around the world.

Am I saying don't take care of the environment. NO. Don't litter. Clean up after yourselves for sure. But quit believing everything Al Gore and Obama tell you. Start to think for yourselves. Let's try to not turn our world into the book "1984." Don't let the politicians do the thinking for you. I have decided "out with the old and in with the new." It's time that they ALL get voted out and we get some "noobs" in there. Let's take back our country! What happened to the country being ran by the people? This government has turned cynical and useless. It's time to move on and let OUR generation run things. Enough of pulling the wool over people's eyes - we have had enough. This rewriting of science was part of the beginning of the end for them and we are starting to wake up.
